Still Have Questions?

Here are some of the most common queries to help give more clarity on what we can do for you.
How many ocean carriers does MCSL work with?

MCSL works with nearly all major global ocean liners servicing the Port of Chattogram, including Maersk Line, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE Line, and YML. These partnerships allow us to secure space, competitive rates, and reliable schedules for our customers.

What are the weekly sailings and cut-off times from Chattogram?

The Port of Chattogram does not follow fixed feeder sailing schedules. Shipments are planned according to the customer’s lead time. Generally, stuffing must be completed one day before the feeder vessel takes berth at the port.

Are there restrictions on what goods I can ship?

Yes. Certain items such as hazardous materials, flammable liquids, and restricted chemicals require special handling and documentation. Our team will advise you on the relevant regulations and packaging requirements.

How is import duty determined?

Import duties and taxes depend on your product’s HS code, declared value, and the destination country’s customs regulations. Our brokerage team helps classify products correctly to minimize delays and unexpected costs.

Why do I need to use off-docks when shipping goods from Bangladesh?

Off-docks, or Container Freight Stations (CFS), are essential to Bangladesh’s export logistics system. They help reduce congestion at the Port of Chattogram and enable faster, more organized cargo handling. Export goods are stuffed, stored, and inspected at off-docks before being transferred to the port for shipment, ensuring efficient customs clearance, quicker turnaround, and smoother export operations. MCSL works with multiple leading off-docks, giving our clients dedicated space, 24/7 operational support, and added reliability.

What documents are required when shipping goods from Bangladesh?

When exporting from Bangladesh, some essential documents are commonly required to ensure smooth customs clearance and compliance. These typically include: a Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading (for sea freight) or Air Waybill (for air freight), Export Registration Certificate (ERC), Certificate of Origin (COO), Export Packing List, Export Permit or License. Depending on the nature of the goods, destination country, or product category, additional documents like inspection certificates, insurance certificates, or product-specific regulatory approvals may also be required. Our operations team assists clients with document preparation to ensure full compliance.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes. We offer real-time shipment tracking through our Cargo Information Management System (CIMS). In addition, our dedicated operations team provides regular updates to keep clients fully informed about their cargo status and movement throughout the journey.
